Iron & Wine – ‘Your Fake Name Is Good Enough For Me’

For years, we here at The Quilted Generation thought Iron & Wine were a two person band i.e Simon & Garfunkel, Sonny & Cher, Matt & Kim etc etc. Ermmmm we were wrong. Iron & Wine are infact ONE man, Mr. Samuel Beam. Not only does his name sound like a fine cognac but his voice does too.

Latest offering to the musical Gods, Kiss Each Other Clean, has just been released on 4AD and is your typical Iron & Wine experience. Well, that is until the closing track ‘Your Fake Name Is Good Enough For Me’. A 7 minute stroll into Mr. Beam’s fantastical folk world. The fact that it is so long and still yet not long enough say’s it all. We particularly like the change about 2 minutes and 35 seconds in. Yes, we timed it. Great track and another great way to start the weekend. So, get it on and get it on loud.
